The demand for food assistance coupled with frigid temperatures creates insurmountable challenges for neighbors in need. The challenges compounded by a cloud of inflation and rising costs are overwhelming. Imagine having to choose between feeding your family and staying warm, which one would you choose? But extreme temperatures will continue because families will have to choose between sweltering heat and putting food on the table in the summer, so let’s prepare together for all the seasons.

In 2022, with the support of donors, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank served a total of 358,250 individuals and 155,545 households across Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Tioga and Union County. 

> 302 agencies and pantries, including New Love Center and American Rescue Workers, collaborated with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank to serve communities from the Food Bank’s Healthy Hub in based in Williamsport.

> 10,032,628 pounds of food and 8,360,523 meals were distributed during the year. In the coldest winter months, January through March, the Food Bank distributed 2,433,265 pounds of food and 2,027,720 meals.

> 57,604 unique individuals and 50,870 unique households were served
